Zaton

The inception of Zaton in 2020 marked a mystical alliance between wordsmith Dmytro Sereda and guitarist Lex Erickson (now an esteemed former member). Initially conceived as an online endeavor, the band's dispersed members across Ukraine soon converged when Lex relocated to Kyiv, joining forces with Dmytro to orchestrate live performances and commence their occult musical odyssey. Together, they wove a tapestry of eerie melodies and haunting harmonies, releasing 5 evocative singles and the chilling opus «Terrors from Other Worlds.» With each performance cloaked in mystery, a carousel of musicians added their spectral flair until bassist Mary and drummer Andrii (now a cherished former member) became integral fixtures in the ethereal ensemble. However, fate led Lex down a divergent path, bidding a bittersweet farewell to shadows. Over time, guitarists Mark Alexson and Oleksandr Kharechko joined the haunting journey. Undeterred, Zaton pressed on, embracing new talents to weave their spells. Following a two-year hiatus shrouded in enigma, Dmytro unleashed «Sexual Ghouls» under the Zaton moniker, enlisting drummer Andrii from Dying Grotesque to summon infernal rhythms. It was a track where ghostly melodies replaced heavy riffs, while macabre humor intertwined with lyrical prose, casting a spell on the audience and expanding the band's achievements into realms beyond.
