This is how her compatriots characterise the artist. Tonya is a member of a creative family - the Matviyenko dynasty of singers, who have long been the guardians of Ukrainian musical culture. More than one generation of Ukrainians grew up with family songs. Thanks to the authentic voice that Tonya inherited from her mother, the Heroine of Ukraine Nina Matviyenko, the artist popularised Ukrainian songs in the USA and Canada, in European countries: Poland, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain, Cyprus, etc. She also performed in the exotic Lebanon and Singapore.
