Joryj Kłoc — Ritual Hip-Hop God‑Grant Ethno-Devil-Rock Band from Lviv (Galicia, West Ukraine) that makes “mad chaos” on the stage! Boys squeezed slaughter rock & roll and drum’n'bass from old Ukrainian musical instruments. In their hands in a modern way sounds: — buchalo (drum) — Carpathian folk tambourine — wheel lyre (hurdy-gurdy) — folk wheel lyre that was used by lyrists-kobzars — kontrahusli — Gutsul name of viola — acoustic guitar — which our folk musicians have never seen! ;-)) The band was founded at 2008 and now Joryj Kłoc is known as distinctive singing quartet with own style and symbolic sounding. The band play in that styles as Folk-Rock, World Music, Alternative, which are based on Ukrainian, Polish, Lithuanian, Bretagne, Belorusian etc. archaic singing components. Joryj Kłoc name comes from the secret language (argo) of closed fraternities of blind lyrists and kobzars who had their own laws and politics which reaches depths of centuries. At the secret Elders Lyrists language the word "joryj" meant: venerable, respected and frenetic, crazy, rebellious, desperate, reckless, severe. And the "kłoc" (common pronunciation as [klots] and [klyots]) – piece, morsel; or – man, elder, sage, expert, ogre. Thus, in modern language the phrase "Joryj Kłoc" can be interpreted as Venerable; Respected Man; Sir. Or in another way: Hot Peppers or Big Nob. Or simply — VIP. However, all those “modest” names equally are suited this famous band! ;0)
