Yevhen Dubinin, the creative force behind the musical project Zhen Shen [zʃen ʃen] (укр. 'Женьшень'), moved from Ukraine to the Bay Area (U.S.A.) in 2019 to pursue a tech career, leaving family and friends behind. Facing loneliness and the challenges of fitting into Bay Area society and the tech community, Yevhen turned to music as an outlet. The EP "Коды", released in 2021, explores ups and downs of romantic relationships. Yet, even as music provided a temporary escape, the war in Ukraine brought a halt to Yevhen's creativity for over a year, filling him with trauma and anxiety. Now back with his debut single "Drink Me Hot", and brand new single "Cut Me Through", Zhen Shen is opening a new chapter in his musical journey. In March 2024, Zhen Shen released his first Ukrainian single "Останній день на Сатурні" (eng.: "Last Day on Saturn"). All Zhen Shen's songs were composed and recorded in a small 300 sq. ft studio apartment in central San Francisco, using a laptop, GarageBand, plugins and guitars. Explore the world of "Desktop Metal"!
