Joncofy

Joncofy is a progressive metal band from Kyiv, Ukraine, formed in 2007 by frontman and composer Maksym Oshkalo. Known for their blend of progressive metal, alternative metal, math metal, and djent, their sound features complex rhythms, atmospheric guitar work, and powerful vocals. In 2008, Joncofy released their demo album “Li(f)e”, gaining local recognition in Ukraine. Their debut EP, “Rorschach Inkblots”, followed in 2011, receiving positive reviews and expanding their reach internationally. In 2012, Joncofy toured Germany with Scar Symmetry and performed at the prestigious Euroblast Festival in Cologne, sharing the stage with bands like After the Burial, Tesseract, Sybreed, Long Distance Calling, and Monuments. This boosted their international reputation, and in 2013, they played with Tesseract in Kyiv. In 2015, they released the single “Mediapocalyps” and toured several cities in Ukraine, strengthening their fanbase. The following year, “VELET” continued their exploration of progressive sounds and complex rhythms. Joncofy’s music combines philosophical reflections on power, consciousness, and manipulation with dense, layered soundscapes, known for their technical complexity and emotional depth.
