In that same year, Velja were nominated for the Best Ukrainian Metal Act – the biggest live alternative music event in Ukraine showcasing top metal bands. The russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 had a significant impact on the band's ability to perform live, so they spent most of the year working in the studio. This resulted in the release of their latest single, Chornobyl 22 which was released on April 26, 2023. The band purposely chose this date to draw attention to how the Ukrainian land, still recovering from the Chornobyl disaster, was able to resist the occupiers. Continuing working on new music, on March 15th, 2024 a new single "Tatova" was released, the first Ukrainian track in band's discography. Members: Stacy Armandarian (vocals and lyrics) Danylo Ilchyshyn (guitars, electronic instruments and samples) Igor Shnurenko (bass) Mykhailo Halinin (drums)
