BIO

Serge Kuźkov, known professionally as kumglv is a Ukrainian multi-instrumentalist musician. The style of kumglv can be best described as sensitive 90s-influenced indie rock. Serge belongs to the “lost generation” of Ukrainian kids who were born in the dying USSR and grew up in the stormy 1990s facing the agony of the Soviet empire along with all the poverty and sometimes absence of most simple things like soap, toilet paper, hot water and electricity in their apartments (let alone such things as musical equipment!). Serge believes it’s not the musical side of him that makes his oeuvre interesting. He primarily describes himself as a conductor/translator/interpreter, the guy who helps people worldwide find out what it’s like to live in a country like Ukraine. “Living in Eastern Europe today is like living on a volcano. You’ll never get bored here. You’ll never need any additional inspiration. You don’t have to stretch your imagination, looking for fresh topics to write about. They are already there. Right on the surface. All you have to do is pick them up. The edges are too sharp to be ignored.”
