DISCOGRAPHY
BIO

Gamardah Fungus is a duo of sound artist Igor Yalivec and guitar player Sergey Yagoda, who works together in in the field of ambient, electroacoustic and dark jazz music since 2009. The duo focuses on the interaction of modular synthesizers and processed guitars with field recordings and complex sound objects, paying particular attention to the human perception of the space, environment and ethnography. Gamardah Fungus is known for their love of self-made mechanical sound devices and ancient artifacts. During live performances and on different releases they used Tibetan ritual horn kangling, made out of a human femur, the Aztec death whistle, specific drone boxes, Intonarumori drone generator, built by schemes of Luigi Russolo, but rethought, improved and more flexible, etc. The creative aesthetics of musicians is based on Zen philosophy and metaphysics. It relies on meditative practices, travelling and spiritual contemplation of the Universe, trying to overhear, understand and approach the sacramental sound of our planet.
