Arkadiy Lenov is an Kyiv-based DJ, live performer and producer known for his immersive, dense, bass-driven sound. His unique understanding of sound engineering and sound design has secured him a series of successful releases on labels such as OBSCUUR, Orbitraxx, and Progressive Future, as well as performances at iconic venues and festivals in Ukraine: Closer, ∄, Strichka Festival, Brudniy Pes to mention alike. Music production hobby became an obsession after attending CXEMA in October 2018. The scale of the event, the quality of the music, and the depth of its impact on his personality were absorbed for a very long time after the event. That was when he felt firsthand that electronic music could manifest grandiosely and "physically". From the beginning of his journey into exploring electronic music, he was attracted to the emphasis on low-frequency range. The use of field recording in production, the distortion of drum parts beyond recognition with effects, and the complete absence of any commercialized echoes in the sound are all integral attributes of his productions as well as his performances. His music is a golden spot somewhere between dubstep and techno, drawing inspirations from UK bass, broken beat, electro and mutated 4x4, often utilising field recording and different unconventional means for sound generation. Arkadii’s sets showcase encyclopedic knowledge of music and seamless mixing technique, delivering dancers and listeners no matter the venue and time slot.
